Uh-oh, my mistake! LF is now a 414A!!! Apologies. The Azura horns are great sounding. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of trying Le Cleach horns.

Yes, you got me! Ha,ha. I have the 416-8B in there originally. Superb sounding but too much bass in my room so I tried attenuating it but the midrange suffers and the "balancing act" between the LF and HF in terms of gain was too difficult to get right for me. So "in" comes the 414! Cut out the collar and bevelled the inside and outside edges of the 414 mounting hole diameter and was surprised at the results.
I had this set up for almost a month now while trying different XO points from 800 to 1400 (Butterworth and Linkwitz plus the Altec published XO's I can find) and settled for 875 1st order with 14 dB attenuation for both the 288's to get close to the 414's using dicrete components.

Hi Abe ! That's very interesting ! You think there was too much Bass ? Room looks large enough for a 416.Especially with using 288's, but see you have it attenuated quite a bit 14 db. Have you tried the small format drivers as well, like the 802-902 ? Love the look of those horns too !

AB, thanks for the kind words! Yes, I tried the small format HF drivers! I have 806, 802D, and 802-8D's. They are good too but to use it with the Azura, I have to install an adaptor (from 1" to 1.4") for the horns. With the 288's, it is straight forward and I prefer this "bolt in" as it is simplier and I do not have to worry about exactly matching the horn throat to the adaptor. If I don't have the 288's, then I would not lose sleep using the small format drivers.
Thanks again!
